- Accountant II – This position has primary responsibility for routine accounting (less than 300 per fiscal year) and payroll for a small state agency. Work includes basic accounting functions, such as balancing accounting and financial statements. A Certified Public Accountant, however, serves as the agency’s end-of-year reviewer of records and producer of the agency’s certified reports to the Comptroller. The position also requires maintaining and preparing related records, documents, and reports. Works under moderate supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position has the ability to work with supervisors to create a flexible work schedule.
